Bring the skates and screws provided by the manufacturer to Cambridge Ice Arena. If you do not have the original screws from the manufacturer we may be able to provide some at additional cost

• Ask any member of staff about leaving your skates for Rich@TheRink
• Fill out the form with your details, indicating blade mounting (final screws)
• Leave the form and parts with staff, taking the receipt portion
• Make payment for the service
• Once you receive a text that the service has been completed, pick them up!

Many skates are supplied with only temporary (adjustment) screws fitted, a bag of screws and instructions to fit the remainder. We will happily advise you on how to check the alignment of the factory-supplied blades, or meet up to check, and fit the remainder of the screws.

The adjustment screws are only intended for alignment of the blade. You should not perform moves on the skate that will put undue pressure on the screws as this could damage them. Before practicing any spins or jumps you must add more screws.

Manufacturers assume you will fit all remaining screws, for maximum stability of the skate. In some circumstances you need not add all of them, but it very much depends on the skate, how advanced your skating is, and the likelihood of you wishing to move/replace the blades in the future.

While possible, we do not recommend this - it's possible to damage the sole/foot bed of the boot, and alignment of the blade is key for skating.
