Meet the Team: Rich Andrews

Rich@TheRink. Skate Technician, Engineer and Hockey Coach

Rich started skating in his early teens, and got his first job at an ice rink at 17. Rich started working for GLL at Cambridge Ice Arena soon after it opened, and set up Rich@TheRink in 2023 to bridge the gap between the services provided by the Ice Arena and the full set of Skate Technician services required by skaters. Rich has steadily expanded the services offered, improved the quality of those services with his own engineered tools, and increased availability of skating equipment for the public.

Meet the Team: Victor and Emy

Victor and Emy have recently joined TheRink team to assist in a number of different aspects of work; Victor focusing on Hockey related business, and Emy for Figure Skating. If you have an appointment booked with Rich@TheRink, it may be with Victor or Emy.

TheRink's Mission

To support skaters and the skating community by providing:

  • A complete and comprehensive set of services, catering to every need of recreational skaters, figure skaters and ice hockey players, at the best quality and result available
  • Information and advice to best serve skaters; no sales agenda, just good, honest guidance

The Workshop

Cambridge Ice Arena, E of Cambridge

Rich@TheRink carries out all types of boot and blade adjustments, including positioning, mounting, sharpening, baking (also known as thermoforming), punching and custom fit. We service over 1,000 boots, blades and skates per year. We also organize fitting appointments at Cambridge Ice Arena!


We have specially engineered tools that ensure better than 0.1mm accuracy on all of our work - the only workshop in the country that uses this technology. How do we know? Because we designed and built them!

The Fitting Shop

Coming soon! Our dedicated fitting shop, where you can purchase skates , boots and blades, and accessories. We stock everything for figure skating and ice hockey.


Our fitting service will ensure you're ready for whatever adventure awaits you on the ice.
